Overnight vs. Day Squash Camps: What’s the Difference?

Squash Camps - Returning Squash Serve

Back in 2007, the International Squash Academy was created with one purpose in mind: to help squash athletes – no matter their age or skill level – improve their on-court performance and achieve elite levels of competitiveness.

We’re proud to have been around as long as we have to provide this opportunity for squash athletes at the best facilities and with the sport’s top coaches. So far, over 1,500 campers have joined us for a camp at ISA, and we’d love to have you join the family this summer!

When trying to find the right squash camp to sign up for, the best question you must ask yourself is which type of camp you’d like to attend.

Here at the International Squash Academy, we have five different camp offerings to choose from. They include extended day camps, day camps and college showcase camps, along with our elite invitational squash camp. You can read more about them right here.

But the real question we want to tackle here is, what’s the difference between overnight and day squash camps? The biggest difference is obvious – one is overnight and one isn’t – but what are the specifics with regard to those differences?

That’s why we’re here to help!

Here’s what a sample schedule for one of our overnight squash camps could look like:

7:00am: Wake Up

7:45: Breakfast

9:00: Stretching and Warm Up

9:15: First Squash Session – Individual Skill Work

11:15: Demos

11:30: Free Time, Tournament Training

12:00pm: Lunch, Swim

2:00: Second Squash Session – Strategy

3:00: Squash Matches

4:30: Free Time, Extra Help

5:30: Dinner

6:30: Off-Court Offerings (Can vary from Guest Speakers, Film Analysis, Sport-Specific Conditioning, Movie Night & Ice Cream Social, and Swimming, where available.)

We offer overnight camps in Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Jersey.

Now, let’s take a look at a sample daily schedule for day squash camps:

9:00am: Campers Arrive, Stretching and Warm Up

9:15: First Squash Session

10:15: Demos

10:30: Break

10:45: Second Squash Session

12:00pm: Lunch

1:00: Third Squash Session

2:00: Squash Scrimmages

3:00: Campers Depart

We also offer day squash camps at various locations in Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Jersey.

There are clear differences in these offerings, but we can assure you that your child will get the same kind of top-notch coaching and instruction at any and every camp they ever attend at ISA.

One thing we’re really proud of is being partnered with the Positive Coaching Alliance. Every camp director is Double-Goal Certified with the PCA, which is a national non-profit organization committed to developing “Better Athletes, Better People” by providing athletes with a positive and character-building experience – both on and off the court.

No matter what your preference is for the type of camp you’d like to attend this summer, we’re looking forward to having you! If there are more questions that need to be answered, feel free to check out our Frequently Asked Questions page.

If you can’t find what you’re looking for there, then just get in touch with us! Send a note via our online form or call one of our friendly customer service representatives at 800-944-7112.
