Lawrenceville School has one of the top squash complexes in the country. The school’s Seman/Lawson Squash Courts features 10 international-size courts.

Trinity College, Hartford, CT

Trinity College’s Kellner Squash Center has 10 international-size courts, two of which are constructed with three glass walls for easy spectator viewing.

Head Coach Paul Assaiante is entering his 13th year at Trinity and will direct both Trinity & Lawrenceville locations. His men’s squash team is coming off a tenth consecutive perfect season, extending the nation’s longest intercollegiate winning streak in any sport to 183 matches in a row. Possessing a stellar career record of 241-10, Assaiante has guided the men’s squash squad to the apex of the sport.

From 1999-2003, Assaiante coached both the United States Squash Team, which competed in the Pan American Games, and the USA Men’s Team, which played in the World Championships. Twice named the United States Olympic Committee Coach of the Year, Assaiante was given the United States Squash Racquets Association (USSRA) President’s Award in 2003-04 for his lifelong contribution to the sport.

Assaiante’s professional athletic career was nothing short of spectacular. He was one-half of the U.S. national doubles championship duo in 1994 and captured the USSRA 50-and-over men’s squash title in 2004. Joining Assaiante will be members of the Trinity Coaching Staff and Team.

Also directing this camp will be South African native Reggie Schonborn.  Reggie was a player and captain for Trinity is in the midst of an unprecedented 165 consecutive match winning streak.  Reggie was a 3 time All-American and All-NESCAC performer.  He is currently earning his master’s degree at Trinity and helping coach the women’s team.

Upon graduating, Reggie joined the PSA Tour and currently holds a world ranking of 150.  During his debut season, Schonborn made the semi-finals of the Atlanta Open and the Rochester Pro.  The past 2 years Reggie’s team has won the Five-Man-Team Nationals in New Haven.  Abroad, Reggie has played in numerous professional events including, the Salzburg Austria Open and Sigma Swiss Open.

 

The Pomfret School, Pomfret, CT

Co-directors Tim Shea, Former Pomfret School Coach and current Vassar College Asst. Coach Philip Wilkins will return for another summer to coach at Pomfret’s Corzine Athletic Center which has 8 new state-of-the-art international courts.

 

Tim played #1 for Vassar College under the tutelage of Head Coach Jane Parker, pro career as #16 in England and #34 in the world, from 1999-2003. Philip Wilkins has played numerous international competitions and has a Level-3 Advanced Coaching Certification.

Tim and Philip have years of experience coaching youth including the Vassar, Millbrook and Pomfret summer squash camps and private lessons. Joining Tim & Philip again will be Tad Chase, Pomfret School Coach who recently completed his Level-1 Advanced Coaching Certification and Lauren Siddall, currently ranked #50 in the World.

Groton School, Groton, MA

Former US Women’s Squash Member,

Hope Prockop has a current world ranking of #116 and national ranking of #6. In 2006, she won a Gold Medal in doubles and one in the team competition at the Pan American Games in Medellin, Columbia. Additional career highlights include; a world ranking high of #91 in 2003, a 5th place finish in the 2005 World Masters Games and a 7th place finish in the 2006 US Nationals.

Coach Prockop attended Harvard University and was a captain of the 1990 National Championship Team. That same year she was named to the All-Ivy League Team and also as an All–American. Hope is a long-time coach of the game, spending 5 years with the Westminster School teams and 3 years with Groton Squash. 

Dave Prockop has been coaching squash at the high school and college levels for 17 years. Having served for several years as the Head Coach of the highly successful Varsity Boys' Squash teams at Westminster School and Groton School, Dave now serves as an instructor to both the Groton boys' and girls' programs. Both teams are among the strongest in New England annually. He has also been a private tennis instructor, the Assistant Tennis and Head Squash Coach at Wellesley College and an instructor at various squash and tennis camps.

Joining Dave and Hope’s staff is Boston Racquet Club Assistant Head Squash Pro Taiwo Kuti. Taiwo has years of experience coaching junior squash players at various summer camps. He also founded a squash club for youth training and development in Lagos Nigeria where he attended school. He has a USSRA level 2 coaching certificate.

Not only is Taiwo an accomplished instructor, he is also a top squash player having won the SquashBusters Adult Open 5.5 2008 and the Grand Open Tournament in New York City. He finished the 2006-2007 season ranked #4 in the Massachusetts Squash State Senior rankings. Finally, he represents Nigeria in international squash competitions around the world.
